This unrealized project merged with an unutilized constructed world to become Eli vs. the Lizard King. The shoot was put on hold after the project failed to obtain grant funding.

EXT. SUBURBAN HOUSE - DAY

MARK (40) locks his front door wearing a loud tracksuit. As he swiftly moves down the front walkway, he places ear pieces in his ear and begins playing some music on his phone.

After reaching the mailbox, he begins a sort of power walk and makes his way to a nearby trail. Once at the trailhead, he notices a sign that looks like a missing dog or cat poster.

Upon closer inspection, he sees that it is a sign for a Missing Muffel, a creature that looks like neither a dog or a cat and more like an angry, furry mushroom. Mark takes a closer look at the sign.

MARK (whispers)
Muffel? What is that?

After a moment, Mark shrugs and straightens before taking off on his power walk. However, he does not make it very far before seeing the muffel off the side of the trail.

Mark takes the ear buds out of his ear and blinks in an exaggerated manner, wondering if he can believe his eyes. It’s then that the muffel takes off into the woods.

Mark follows it.

MARK
Wait! Wait, muffel!

In the next instant the muffel seemingly disappears right before Mark’s eyes. Mark can scarcely believe it, but continues to move forward only to fade away himself….
